Barbera, a red grape hailing from Italy’s Piedmont region, takes center stage in this 2020 vintage. While traditionally the third most planted grape in Italy, these Barbera grapes flourished in the sun-drenched vineyards of Clarksburg, California. Aged meticulously for 24 months in American oak, this wine reveals a rich tapestry of flavors, including notes of succulent raisins, vibrant tart cherries, and a hint of vanilla. The velvety tannins and lively acidity harmonize seamlessly, creating a well-rounded profile.
A touch of Petite Sirah was artfully incorporated to enhance complexity and deepen the wine’s hue. This Italian-style gem pairs exceptionally well with a diverse range of dishes, from pasta adorned with tomato-based sauces to an assortment of cheeses and roasted root vegetables.
